Apostilles are issued in the State of Mississippi at the notary-apostille office in Jackson by Delbert Hosemann, the Secretary of State.

Documents submitted for apostille need to comply with the following guidelines:

  • Documents need to be issued in Mississippi.
  • Notarized documents must be correctly notarized by a Notary Public and need to include the date, commission stamp and jurat.
  • In order to obtain apostille for Vital Records such as birth, death or marriage certificates you need to submit original certified copies with the signature of Judy Moulder, the State Registrar and Director of Health Statistics and Vital Records at Mississippi State Department of Health.
  • For apostilles issued for school records such as diplomas and transcripts you need notarized copies from the School Registrar’s Office.
